Dear employers,
this is Sifa.
A FULL-TIME FREELANCE TRANSLATOR
I started receiving translation projects for academic papers in the last two years of university. Then, after graduating I began my journey as a freelance translator. I translated documents mostly from INA to ENG under the name of Excellator, a translation-providing service platform I built. There, I collaborated with many stakeholders in various fields from academic, and business to the governmental sector.

Projects
company report
I worked with KSB Indonesia, a pipe and valve producing company, to translate their report on checking the fire pumps in mining areas of the gold mining company, Freeport. The most challenging part of this project was to research technical terms and the equipment positioning to deliver the ideas as accurately as possible in the target language.
survey result
Working with my academic advisor, a lecturer & translator, I translated a survey result report from INA to ENG. The survey targeted communities living in one of the big cities in Indonesia regarding a specific project related to disaster resistance. In this project, I found that delivering the message of the respondents as accurately as possible while maintaining a conversational tone in the written form was one of the most noticeable challenges. Also, ensuring that we consistently used the set terms for the whole translation was just as vital.
abstract
I translated an abstract of a thesis in the field of public health. Researching the medical terms was the most challenging part in this type of translation for me.
academic paper
I translated an academic paper in the field of economics that is focused on entrepreneurial education in high schools in Surakarta. Besides the economics terms research, the academic delivery was also a challenge in translating this type of document.
workshop transcript
Working with researchers conducting a workshop for their further data-collecting process, I translated the transcript. In the translation process, we tried to maintain the consistency of the terms used for the whole document. Also, I completed the missing points in the transcription by listening to the recording and/or adjusting it with the context.
